Gary Oak is the grandson of Professor Oak, and he sets out on a mission to complete the entries in the Pokedex. Gary stands out for his knowledge of Pokémon and his skill in training them, which often makes him a formidable opponent for Ash.During the first series, he appears on screen from time to time, although his main purpose is to mock and annoy the main character. He is not interested in dueling with him and exclusively boasts about his successes and the fact that he is always one step ahead of his rival.
He repeatedly laughs that his Krabby is gigantic compared to the one caught by Ash, also during his journey through the Kanto region alone he caught as many as 200 Pokémon, with Ash in no way even coming close to his score. So fans have been waiting for a long time for Ash vs Gary duel to finally clarify who is the better trainer.
The first Pikachu vs Eeveeacji clash and the results of the fight
The first clash between Ash and Gary takes place after the Orange Islands tour. They met in Professor Oak’s laboratory in Pallet Town. A suggestion was made to use only one, the strongest Pokemon. There was no surprise on Asha’s part and Pikachu entered the battlefield. Gary threw his Pokeball and an adorable Eevee appeared on the meadow a moment later.
Eevee didn’t even look hurt for a moment, Pikachu neisthetically, despite several attempts, was unable to break his opponent. He finally ends the clash through an impressive head attack.
The first clash is won seamlessly by Gary. Fans waited a long time for this duel and, unfortunately, it left a big dissatisfaction. The clash looked like the initial duel from the Pokemon Yellow game.
Ash vs Gary – Fighting in the Pokemon league!
This encounter was definitely more likely to appeal to fans. After all, the heroes faced each other in the Pokemon league. Now they have the opportunity to show everyone who among them is the better trainer. This clash did not involve Pikachu. Ash prepared the following team: Tauros, Heracross, Muk, Bayleef, Snorlax and Charizard. Gary’s Pokémon: Nidoqueen, Magmar, Blastoise, Arcanine, Scizor and Golem.
This time Tauros didn’t help Ash much and is quickly knocked out by Nidoqueen. In his place Heracross enters and Magmar immediately stands against him. The duel is evenly matched and it is Ash’s Pokemon that emerges victorious, although moments later he is defeated by Blastoise.
Muk tries to defeat Turtle Pokemon, but also has to succumb to it in the end. A similar fate befalls Bayleef, who is dismissed without much chance. In the end, Ash sends Snorlax, which proves to be better in its clash with Arcanine, and after a few moments also sends Nidoqueen to the mat. However, he too eventually has to acknowledge his rival’s superiority when Scizor comes into play. When the steel Pokemon defeted Muk, Ash last hope – Charizard – enters the arena! He has repeatedly rescued our hero from problems, will he also be able to defeat the enemy with his brute strength this time?
Scizor has to succumb to his flames, also Golem didn’t pose much of an obstacle for him, but in a moment another starter from the Kanto region – Blastoise – comes out against him. This duel does not promise to be a good one, as Gary has the advantage on his side in terms of Pokemon type. Charizard, using his showpiece attack – seismic shock, defeats Blastoise and thus Ash Ketchum triumphs over Gary Oak in the Pokemon league!
Unfortunately, this is the beginning of the end of their rivalry, Gary in time decides to abandon the role of trainer and follow in his grandfather’s footsteps, becoming a Pokemon researcher.
Did Gary and Ash still fight after the Pokemon league?
Since becoming a Pokemon scientist Gary has had one more small battle with Ash. He pitted his Electivire against Pikachu. The duel was short and Pikachu is again defeated by Gary. After this small skirmish, they did not fight each other again.
