What is Pokemon Tazo?

Pokemon Tazo tokens were an extremely popular collection of goodies that came with packets of chips. Each token featured a picture of one of many iconic Pokemon, such as Mewtwo, Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle.

Due to their popularity, Tazos Pokemon chips became one of the most coveted gadgets of the 1990s and were often traded among collectors. Although the sets are no longer available in Lay’s crisps, many people still keep their Tazo token collections as souvenirs from that era.

How to play Pokemon Tazo

Pokemon Tazo is a popular new game that has taken the world by storm. It combines elements of traditional card games with the beloved Pokémon franchise to create an exciting and unique gaming experience for fans of all ages. Players collect discs featuring their favorite Pokémon characters and battle against each other to become the ultimate champion. Playing Pokemon Tazo is relatively simple.

Each token has a name, strength and description, described on the back, in case of displaying them, the player whose type was defeated wins. There are different versions of the game. In Poland, the nailing variant was popular, where each player added 1,2,3 or 4 tokens to the tower. They were then knocked down with a zapper or other tazos. The player took possession of each one he nailed. Depending on the variant, we could have different numbers of players, even 6 or 7.

What makes Tazos with Pokemon special?

The first series, containing 51 tazos, was available in lay’s, lays max and cheetos chips in late 2001 and early 2002, depicting first-generation Pokémon and including, as the last in the collection, a token featuring Ash. Currently, the original tazos are hard to find. We can only get non-original tazos, which are available for purchase on Chinese classifieds sites.

How much does it cost to buy a set of Pokemon Tazo and Pokemon Metal Tazo?

The cost of buying a set can vary greatly depending on the size and condition. Some Pokemon Metal Tazo are more valuable than others. Ultimately, it’s up to you how much you’re willing to spend on a full set. It’s best to browse the listings on auction sites. Collecting is a time-consuming hobby.

How many different Pokemon Tazo sets exist?

When it comes to collecting, there are many different sets from many countries. Tazo set 1 from the first series has 51 pieces. Series 1 also has set2. There are more than 400 Polish discs alone, with some series containing 10 pieces. Some of them are a bit different, having a different shape or feature, like the glow-in-the-dark flash tazos, trios which are triangular instead of the standard round shape. Also Duo Tazo, having an additional sticker. They were additionally characterized by the fact that they were the most poorly made tokens. They had numerous translation errors or smaller mistakes such as bad numbering of creatures (for example, instead of the number 9 it had the number 11.

Plastic series are 9, metal series are 5. Giving a total number of 14. In addition, there are also Tazos Roks,

Is a Pikachu from series 1 worth more?

In the case of Pokemon Tazo, their value depends on the rarity of the disc, not on the Pokémon that are on it, not like a card game. A token with a Pikachu or Charizard therefore has no additional value due to the character on it.
